Who Needs an Esta Visa?
The Electronic System for Travel Authorisation is for anyone traveling to the US as a citizen of any of the 38 Visa waiver countries. You need an ESTA visa if you are travelling to the US for under 90 days. The current system came into existence in 2009.

You can apply for an ESTA visa by going to the official US Customs and Border Protection department website. Don’t want to go through the rigorous process? Unsure about how to complete the process? You can apply for an ESTA Visa through our straightforward application process.
When Should I Apply for my Esta Visa?
The recommended application time is at least prior to 72 hours before your departure date. However, to avoid possible disappointment, we recommend applying for an ESTA visa earlier. If there are any issues with your application, resolution could take up to 72 hours. Applying for your ESTA earlier gives you enough time to complete your applications on schedule.
How Long Does it Take to Apply for an ESTA?
Since ESTA applications are completed online, it takes a few minutes to complete your application. You only need to supply us with all requested information and we will get to work completing the application process. All applications are processed within 24 hours and we aim to deliver your unique Visa Waiver application number within 24 hours of your application.
How Long Does an ESTA Visa Last?
An ESTA Visa expires two years from the date of issue. However, you cannot use an ESTA Visa issued on your old passport after the passport has expired. So, your ESTA is only valid for two years or until the expiry of your current passport, whichever comes first.
Do I need an ESTA if I already Have A Visa?
If for some reason, you have a visa as a citizen of a Visa Waiver Program country, you don’t need to apply for an ESTA. Typically, a visa will be requested if you do not meet all the requirements for an ESTA. If you are travelling to the US at a later date within the validity of your visa, you won’t need an ESTA.
Do I need to Print My ESTA Visa?
When your ESTA is approved, the relevant US authorities are notified. This means that you are not under compulsion to print your ESTA. However, there is no other document to show as proof of authorisation when asked to present one at the airport. Some carriers will only allow you to proceed on your travel if you are able to provide a printed copy of your ESTA.
Is My ESTA still Valid?
There are many reasons to be concerned about the validity of your ESTA. If your personal information has changed, you cannot remember when you applied for your ESTA visa, you cannot remember your ESTA number, or have recently renewed your passport, the validity of your ESTA might be in doubt. To confirm the validity of your ESTA, we can use old information you have supplied us in the past (if we completed the process for you initially) for the verification process. If we didn’t handle your application in the past, we can use your present personal information to verify the validity of your ESTA.
Is my ESTA Up to Date?
Your ESTA is likely up to date, if you have visited the US in the last 12-18 months. If you have not been to the United States within this time window, there is the possibility that the ESTA is no longer up to date or nearing expiry. ESTA visas only have a two-year window. Additionally, your ESTA will not be up to date if you have made any changes to your personal information since you last visited the United States.
Is an ESTA different from a Visa?
An ESTA may be referred to as an ESTA visa but in reality, it is different from a visa. A visa requires a physical interview at an American Consulate in your city. An ESTA, on the other hand, can be completed online by providing all the requested information. If you have fallen short of the requirements for an ESTA as a citizen of a country covered by the Visa Waiver Programme, you will have to apply for a Visa at your local US Consulate. This is why it is vital to apply for an ESTA as early as possible.
What does ESTA Application Pending Mean?
When you get “Esta Application Pending” it means that a little more time is required to sort your ESTA application. It is one of three responses you can get at the end of the ESTA application process. It doesn’t mean your application has been rejected. In some cases, it means that your application has been flagged for further review. In other cases, it means that the US is currently dealing with a backlog of applications to be sorted before yours. Generally, you will get a definite answer within 72 hours.
What is a Tourist Visa?
A tourist visa to the US is a visa for non-immigrants. It is also referred to as a visitor visa or a B2 Visa. It is meant for people looking to enter the US temporarily for a variety of reasons ranging from recreational/holiday reasons and medical checks to short course attendance or special conferences.
